Care & Installation

Travertine wall cladding typically weighs 50 to 80 kg per square metre, well above the roughly 32 kg per square metre most wall adhesives can safely carry on their own. That means most stack stone and ledgestone cladding needs mechanical fixing in addition to adhesive, not adhesive alone.

Mechanical fixing uses stainless steel angles (grade 304 or 316), never unprotected aluminium, which can react with cement-based adhesive over time. Substrate needs to be sound: concrete block and brick should be rendered first and any hollow blockwork core-filled so fixings have something solid to grip. Have a qualified engineer confirm the fixing system, anchor spacing and substrate suitability for your specific wall and height before installation.

Cladding is usually installed with butt joints and no grout, which means water can get behind the panel if the wall isn't waterproofed first. In coastal Queensland, factor in wind load and thermal cycling for exterior walls, and ask about the specific rock type before specifying cladding above 3 m or in a high-wind zone.

Trade, builder and landscaper enquiries are welcome for this product, including bulk and wholesale pricing. We deliver across SE Queensland, with Australia-wide delivery available. Samples are available on request.
